Peter James Teris, 61, originally from Pittsburgh’s Brookline neighborhood passed away at his home in Peters Township after bravely battling pancreatic cancer. He was the son of late James George Teris and the late Demetra Makris Teris, husband of Paula Teris; father of his beloved, and departed Peter Emmanuel Teris, and surviving son Theodore Teris; brother of Christina (the late Kyriacos) Kakoullis, and Uncle to Dimitri, Savvas, and Alexandros. A true entrepreneur, Peter operated Teris Parking since 1981 and expanded into real estate throughout the years. He and his wife, Paula Babac Teris operated their parking lots with the motto “Parking Our Pittsburgh Neighbors.” If you parked to go to The University of Pittsburgh, worked downtown, hockey games, Steeler games, 4th of July Fireworks, St. Patrick’s Day parade, you probably parked at some point with Teris Parking. Peter loved and supported the Pathfinder School - A School for Special Needs and thought the world of the staff and loved the children. Peter was a true optimist and despite losing both parents at a young age, found humor and joy in the world through baseball, singing, and time with his family. Peter also had no problem pointing out the obvious, and had a quick wit unmatched. He was compassionate, and the friend you wanted if life was difficult, and found the good in everyone. Peter leaves behind a legacy of laughter and perseverance that nothing is impossible. He had hundreds of friends from grade school on from all walks of life, and he touched everyone’s life he met. May his memory be eternal. Peter’s viewing will be Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church at 123 Gilkeson Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15228 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Click here to watch live stream The church will be live streaming the funeral service on their website at 11:00 AM. In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Pathfinder School, 50 Donati Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102.

Please accept my deepest condolences Paula, Theo, and Christina. I just heard about Pete's passing and have been thinking about him the past few hours. I've known Pete since Carmalt and Brookline schools and he was truly a special man and friend. I am smiling remembering skipping OVT classes with him in 8th grade to spend the afternoon in the backroom of the family bar with his mom or us heading off to opening day at 3 Rivers stadium as young teenagers. Pete had a spark and joy that he shared with others in life and now will have peace that he dearly deserves.

The family would prefer a donation to Pathfinder School rather than plant a tree. -Paula Teris

Dear Paula, Theo,Christina , So sorry for your loss. My brother and I were in the same grade as Pete at Brookline school as well as being from the same part of Brookline. Pete always had a way of cheering up those around him. I will always remember him being the best at the times tables in Mr Anthony’s class in grade school. He always would remind us of how we played waffle ball at Carmalt Scool, pick up baseball and little league down at the community center. He never had the best athletic ability but that never stopped him from always doing his best. We connected back up recently playing in the senior softball league as well as some basketball. He quickly won the favor of all those who played with him. It was so refreshing that he kept that kid like spirit and quality even with the challenges he faced. He was one of a kind. He always showed interest and concern for my brother and offered to help with my Brothers kid. May the light of eternal peace be on you all. RIP Pete

Dear Paula, Theo and Christina and Family,
My deepest sympathy and condolences are with your family during this difficult time. Pete was like a big brother to me. I am heartbroken. I will remember all the fun times we had at Teris Parking. He was a great man, father, boss and friend. He will forever be missed by so many people. Everyone loved him, even his competitors would always say, how does he always come out on top. He was just an all around great person. He did a lot for me and my son and family. Butchie loved him. I will always remember when he would take him to play softball with Tommy. He was a legend in his own time. He would always sing to me after the games and would not let me leave until he was finished. I could go on with many stories of all the fun times we had. He always helped the less fortunate and would create odd jobs for them to do just to make some extra money. We all were one big happy family. We would laugh, fight, cry and have a blast together. I will forever miss him driving by me at the lots and telling me to raise the price lol. He loved what he did and loved everyone around him. I know now he is in heaven with Peter resting. We love and will always think of you Peter Teris you were one of the all time greats. This is a huge loss for everyone. I pray for his family and friends. Say hi to Butchie, Peter and Red for me in heaven. Shine down on us and continue to watch over us. May you finally Rest in Peace. Love you Pete. Your Friend, Lisa McMinn

Dear Paula, Theo,Christina. My deepest sympathy for your loss Pete was always in my prayers and he still will be and also the family. Pete always will be remembered as giving us hometown Brookline guys a chance to make money.
Pete also had a good heart towards the unfortunate ones . Every time I watch The big valley I will think of him for we were both big fans of that show.
Pete will be remembered and very much missed , may he rest in peace. God bless you and keep you strong. Sincerely, with love. Frank Semplice
