Dear Freund Family, I was sorry to read about your mother's struggle but so glad to read about your strong and good thoughts concerning her life and legacy! I pray that God will keep your hearts in the palm of His hand and that the promise of Life and Love will sustain you in the days ahead, some of which will be hard. In every funeral I officiate over I summarize 1 Corinthians 13. It is often read at weddings. It was what really helped me deal with my dad's death 20 years ago. The final description of love in that passage is that "love never ends!" So your mother's love for you and your love for her is not over in her death. God's final word is love and life!
