Obituary for Aleen Allsop Mathews Shallberg
Age 84, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away in her home on Thursday, January 19, 2017. Beloved Wife of Richard Shallberg and the late Robert Gordon Mathews; Loving Mother of David (Katharina Heyer) Mathews, Janice Mathews, the late Richard (Cindy) Mathews, and Julie (Edward) Klym; Grandmother of 12, including Bryan (Ashlee) and Gordon (Lauren) Mathews, and Great-Grandmother of 12, all of whom adored her. She graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and the University of Michigan. She served on the boards of the Wesley Institute, the Upper St. Clair School District, the Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair, and the St. Clair Hospital Foundation. She was a member of St. Clair Country Club, the Duquesne Club, and the Twentieth Century Club. Aleen will be remembered for her kind and generous nature and her devotion to her family. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 29 at 2 PM in Christ United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Rd., Bethel Park, PA 15102. A Reception at the St. Clair Country Club, 3200 Old Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241 will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Clair Hospital Foundation, 1000 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15243. Please add and view tributes at www.beinhauer.com.
