Obituary for Brian W. Vernau

Brian W. Vernau,
Age 43, of Houston, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 30, 2004, in Canonsburg General Hospital, Canonsburg. He was born July 24, 1961, in Jeannette, a son of the late Thomas and Eleanor Reber Vernau. Mr. Vernau was a 1979 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and received an engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1984. At the time of his death, he was employed by DBT-America in Houston. He was a member of Chartiers Crossroads Presbyterian Church, Independent Club of Houston and Golf Club of Washington. He was also past president of Chartiers-Houston Youth Wrestling Association and was active in Chartiers-Houston youth programs, coaching soccer, girls softball and baseball. On August 31, 1985, he married Beth Buckley, who survives. Also surviving are his stepmother, Patricia Vernau of Canonsburg; two daughters, Stephanie and Kellie Vernau and a son, Andrew Vernau, all at home; two brothers, Thomas (Tami) Vernau of Harrisburg and Michael (Denise) Vernau of Washington; a sister, Jean (Steve) Zyglowitz of Leesburg, Va.; and several nieces and nephews; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Buckley Jr. of Canonsburg. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 PM Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Thursday in Bogan Funeral Homes Inc., 164 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, where services will be held at 11 AM Friday, December 3, with the Rev. Barry D. Sweet officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Heart Association.
