Yolanda Corso, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at age 99. beloved mother of Pamela Cutrone Sapienza, grandmother of Joseph Cutrone (Lynn), Timothy Barnhart, and Dane Sapienza, great grandmother of Danielle, Joe Jr., Nick Cutrone, Faith and Timmy Barnhart Fondelier. Yolanda also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.
Yolanda was born in Arnold, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Serafena Guido, as well as her 4 brothers (Joe, Tony, Fred, and Frank), her sister (Rose Guido Borrelli), and husband, Joseph Corso.
Yolanda worked for Giant Eagle Markets for 28 years at the Greentree, Castle Shannon, South Hills Village, and Village Square supermarkets. She served as Local 1040 Union Steward and worked in the store’s main office for many years. Yolanda retired from Giant Eagle in 1983. She kept in touch with many of her co-workers, whom she lovingly referred to as her “girls.”
Yolanda’s biggest source of love and pride were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved going to their baseball, football, and soccer games, dance recitals, Boy Scout events, parades, concerts, and getting together for family events. She was an avid fan of all of the Pittsburgh sports teams, and attended many Pirate games with her grandson, Joe. Yolanda enjoyed getting together with friends for coffee or lunch, Bingo, bowling, and traveling. She was very independent, outgoing, and formed many long-lasting friendships.
Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and Family are welcome at 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray, 724-941-3211 on Tuesday 2-4PM & 6-8PM, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday 11 AM. Interment to follow in Chartiers Cemetery.
