Obituary for William John "B.J., Bill" Payne

William John “B.J., Bill” Payne

Age 40, of Baldwin, formerly of Upper St. Clair passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Bill was the beloved fiancé of Nikki Nicholson; adoring daddy of four-year old Carter “CeCe”; special, kind-hearted, precious son and “rock” of Barb Payne; cherished son of Bill and Barbara Payne, of Washington; brother and best friend of Melissa (Jarrett) Froelich, and Steve Herring; best-ever Uncle Bull to Grayson and Brooklyn Froelich; dear son-in-law of Kimberly and Michael Nicholson, of West Mifflin; and dog dad to his babies, Nina and Nova. Bill is also survived by too many friends to name them all. He was the kind of guy who never met a stranger, a friend to all and loved by all who met him.

Never without his always-worn-backwards or sideways, flat-brimmed hat, perfectly styled Viking beard, designer sunglasses, clothes and shoes, Bill will most be remembered for his magnetic personality, his generous heart, and his love of a good time. He enjoyed the simple things in life like fishing, vacationing at the beach, annual family vacations, spending time at Slippery Rock Camp with "Ma" and his friends, riding his motorcycle with his dad, going to concerts with friends, sitting around the camp fire with neighbors, and hanging with his dogs. He especially loved his Daddy-Daughter Nights with his favorite girl, CeCe. Known to his family as B.J., he loved his family fiercely and above all else. He was so grateful to be building a beautiful life with Nikki and CeCe. The shocking loss of Bill leaves a hole in the hearts of his family and friends. They will hold tight to and cherish the many, many wonderful memories.
