Obituary for William Andrew Blehar

William Andrew Blehar, of McMurray, PA, beloved husband and best friend of Rita C Blehar for 67 years, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the age of 92.

William Blehar was born in Coral, Pennsylvania on April 7, 1928. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. William honorably served in the United States Navy from 1946-1948 and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. He made many lifelong friends during his career with IBM. An avid golfer, William was an active member of the Valley Brook Country Club for 37 years. William was a loyal friend, loving father, devoted husband, and was the heart of the family. Those who spent time with him know that he was a good man: honorable, kind, hard working, and selfless in the service of others.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Denise Blehar in 1974. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Rita; daughter, Mary Jo Ormiston (Thomas) of Davis, California; grandchildren: Cleya June Leverette (Mark) of San Francisco, California; Laurel Denise Ormiston M.D. of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Lynnea Ellen Ormiston of Davis, California; his great granddaughter Scarlett Mary Leverette; Sherri and K.C. Laster and many other close nieces and nephews.

He will be fondly remembered by those he laughed with, lived for, and loved. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessings of the time that we spent with him.
