Obituary for William W. Aggers

William W Aggers 97, of Houston PA, passed away March 18, 2021 at The Donnelly House, Washington, PA. He was born December 24, 1923 the son of the late Joseph W. and Mary Ann (Williams) Aggers of Snowden Township.

He was a loving and caring father and husband who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He made several hunting trips to Colorado and Idaho for elk and mule deer, to Quebec for caribou, to Ontario for bear and locally hunted for deer and turkey until the age of 94. He also enjoyed watching the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. When his sons were young, he coached both little league and pony league baseball.

He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 in the 764 Railway Shop Battalion as a locomotive machinist stationed in Northern France during the European African Middle Eastern Campaign of WWII. After the Army he worked many years at the former Western State School and Hospital as the stationery engineer supervisor at the boiler plant. He also sold tools for the Anderson Tool Company of New Castle. He is a 50+ year member of the Masons, the Shriners, the local 191 VFW and American Legion and a member of the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church.

He will be greatly missed by his four children, Joseph (Gayle) Aggers, Diane (James) Anderson, Kenneth (Robin) Aggers and Keith (Doris) Aggers; his twelve grandchildren, Jennifer, Joseph, Matthew, Timothy, Benjamin, Rebecca, Kimberly, Michael, Danielle, Kenneth Jr, Leslie and Steven; his eleven great grandchildren, Hannah, Hayden, Kaiya, Noah, Wyatt, Amber, Zachary, Braydon, Hailey, Alex and Rylie, his two great-great grandchildren Aiden and Greyson, nieces Cheryl Robinson, Freda Christman and Debra Conrad and nephew Howard Aggers along with great nieces, nephews and cousins and stepchildren James Nuccetelli and Linda Benedetti.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Jane Elizabeth (Grimm) Aggers, married January 31, 1948, a son, William David Aggers, Springfield Il, his second wife Theresa (Nuccetelli) Aggers married May 26, 1990, four sibling George Aggers, Agnes Finley, Jennie Thornhauer, Howard (Hud) Aggers.

Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Family and friends will be received at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, on Tuesday March 23, 2-4PM & 6-8PM. Additional Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 24, 10AM until time of service at 11AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow with full military honors at Forest Lawn Gardens.
