Obituary for Wesley E. Kerlin Jr.

Wesley E Kerlin, Jr, 81 of Bridgeville on Friday March 3.
Wes was a Social Worker for 38 years, the majority of which was spent with The Salvation Army in Pittsburgh. He dedicated his professional life to helping the less fortunate among us and always believed that “There but for the grace of God, go I.” He leaves behind his wife of more than 54 years, Marjorie. Sons Michael and Brian. Daughters in law Aneka and Anne. And 4 grandchildren, Evan, Lily, JoJo and Ibro. He attended St. Fidelis, Duquesne University, received a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, and was a member of the Lions Club for more than 25 years. He received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award from the Lions Club for Dedicated Humanitarian Services and the William Booth Award from the Salvation Army for Outstanding Service. Wes believed strongly in the power of family, friends, and his Catholic faith. He also believed that Ice Cream was a “magic elixir” that healed most, if not all, problems. He was a big fan of corny jokes and dearly loved to laugh. He touched an uncountable number of lives during his time here and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Well done thou good and faithful servant.
