Obituary for Terrence E. "Terry" Milani

Age 75, of Peters Twp., went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

Terry was the beloved husband of 41 years to Peggy Walker; loving father of Meg, Bill and Mark (Kathy); grandfather of Josh and Maya and brother of Kenneth and the late Glenn.

Terry, also known as Big T, excelled as a baseball player. In the 1965 Amateur Entry Draft, he was selected as a 1st Baseman in the 2nd round (40th overall) by the St. Louis Cardinals. His love and passion for sports led him to coaching many children including his own, in several different sports.

Terry earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education at the University of Pittsburgh where he served as the Former Associate Director of Student Life and Director of Student Volunteer Outreach. Over his 44 year career at Pitt, Terry played a major role in shaping student life as well as Pitt student’s impact on the local community. Terry is generally credited with the creation of the SGB allocation system, the University Student Organization Certification Program, the Graduate and Professional Student Association, the Emerging Leaders and Student Development Transcript programs, the Commuter Resource Center, and the Pitt Program Council. On December 13, 2012, he was recognized by Chancellor Nordenberg for his 40 years of service and commitment to the University.

A gathering to celebrate Terry’s life will be held at the Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray (724-941-3211), on Friday from 6 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org/) or Pet Search (http://petsearchpa.org/).
