Obituary for Susan Marie Young
Age 64, originally of Butler, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on March 28, 2022, at her home in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Sue’s final days were spent surrounded by her family, who loved and cared for her dearly.
Sue is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert H. Young, and her three children, Alaina Marie Young, Daniel R. Young (Chelsea), Bryant J. Young (Kristin), as well as their Airedale Terrier, Sidney, who watched over her for the last 12 years. She was preceded in death by her father, John Jacob Look, and her mother, Geraldine Marie Look, of Butler County. Sue is also survived by three sisters, Debbie, Lori, Lisa, and their families; as well as two sister-in-law’s, Michele and Debra Young.
As childhood neighbors in Center Township, Butler County, Sue and Bob were lifelong sweethearts and even attended college close to each other, at Slippery Rock University and Grove City College, respectively. Sue’s career as an educator spanned from public education, to owning her own preschool, and becoming a teacher and the eventual Director of Trinity Weekday School, in Peters Township, Washington County until her retirement in 2020.
