Age 72, of Pittsburgh, passed peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 29, 2021. She was the beloved wife of 50 years, to Raymond Fretterd; loving daughter of the late William and Eunice Stout; cherished second cousin of Beth (Pete) Loncar of Aliquippa, PA, Robin (Bob) Smith of Wheeling, WV, Susan Melendez of Alexandria, VA, and Terri (Keith) Mattheesson of Richmond, TX; treasured cousin of Eileen (Mike) Sykes of Canandaigua, NY; she is also survived by many other family and friends. Susan was born in Van Nuys, CA, and lived there with her parents and extended family. After her second birthday, her parents decided to move back to Pittsburgh, where they were originally from. Susan attended Brookline school district for her younger grades, and Wilkinsburg school for Jr. High and High School. She later went on to attend Carnegie Mellon University where she met her husband, Raymond, and graduated with a BA in Math in 1970. They first met as registering students in 1966 and were married shortly after graduation in 1970. Susan started her teaching years at Mt. Lebanon High School, where she specialized in Math and Computer Science for 35 years. She would later receive her Masters from Duquesne University. In her later years, Susan became a pillar of the community, serving as president of Mt. Lebanon Federal Credit Union and volunteering her time at the Mt. Lebanon Library. She and her husband enjoyed trips to Europe and took care of two Shar Pei dogs throughout their marriage, as well, named Bourbon and Millie. Arrangements by BEINHAUERS. There will be a memorial service immediately following at the funeral home, where we invite anyone who knew her to share a story in her memory.
