Saverio “Sam” Summaria
Of Canonsburg, age 89, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Norina Summaria; loving father of Luciana (the late Bruce) Bilohlavek, Tony Summaria, Joe Summaria and his wife Angela, and Sam Summaria; cherished grandfather of Lauren Bilohlavek, the late Andrew Bilohlavek, Nicole Lageman, Tony Summaria, Ashlee Summaria, Olivia Summaria, Jessica Summaria and Alex Summaria; great-grandfather of Amelia Lageman; brother of Michael Summaria, Lucia DeMiglio and the late Carlo Summaria and Norina; also survived by numerous additional loving family members and many friends. Sam’s life was truly enriched by his lap buddy and canine companion Stanley. Sam loved spending time with people and always made sure to put a smile on everyone’s face. He was an avid Pittsburgh Penguin and Steeler fan. One of Sam's favorite pastimes was soccer, which he played in his home country of Italy. Sam also loved to garden and enjoyed watching nature shows and boxing. Friends and family are welcome at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray (724-941-3211), on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday in St. Oscar Romero Parish, St. Patrick Catholic Church in Canonsburg.
