Obituary for Sandra Sue Hall

Sandra S. Hall, 64, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away November 23, 2022. Sandra was born in Ellwood City, PA, daughter of the late George and Ruth Hall. She was wife of the late Arthur M. Ryden, who passed away in April, 2022. They had been married 21 years.

Sandra graduated from Lincoln High School, Ellwood City, class of 1976 and obtained a B.A. in English Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. Following an early career in the insurance industry she completed a master’s degree from University of Pittsburgh in English Writing and then became an instructor of English composition and business writing, adjunct faculty, for University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University. Among her many accomplishments was winning the WYEP-FM radio short fiction contest in 2001.

Sandra’s hobbies were concentrated around her love for books and animals. She was a talented dog groomer, an independent editor and avid reader.

She is survived by a brother, Gregory Hall (Patti) of Ellwood City and a sister, Kathleen Baer (Bruce) of Downingtown, PA along with one niece, five nephews, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
