Obituary for Roy D. Jacox

Roy D. Jacox

Age 80, of Peters Township/Canonsburg, formerly of Cleveland, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 28, 2022. Roy was the beloved husband of the late Joan (Chapas) Jacox, who preceded him in 2002; devoted dad of Brian Jacox, and Joy (Jacox, Hartwell) Street; respected father-in-law of Doug Street; cherished Poppy of Paige (Sam Getz) Hartwell, Kaiden Jacox, Kamryn Jacox, Kaleb Jacox, Klaire Jacox, Niko Street, Jacob Street, and Kade Street; dear brother of Larry (Margie) Jacox, and the late Ken and Leslie Jacox; brother-in-law of Marilyn (the late Jerry) Friga, and the late Rich (Jean, surviving) Chapas; and lifelong best friend of Ed Rehor and Paul and Doris Day. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Roy was drafted during Vietnam and fortunately chosen to serve as a cook in Fort Knox. He enjoyed a successful career at Kvaerner (formerly Davy McKee), and was always quick to share a story from his many years traveling throughout the world. The family takes some solace in knowing that Roy is now in his rightful “seat” in heaven, where he’s been joyfully reunited with Joan, his one and only true love.
