Ronald "Ron" Townsend
Age 74, of Vermilion, Ohio, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. Beloved husband of Emily Townsend for 40 wonderful years; loving father of Matthew (Sherelyn) Townsend and Philip Townsend; proud grandfather of Colton Townsend; caring brother of Kenneth (David Heyman) Townsend; treasured son of the late Kenneth and Betty Townsend; son in law of Grace Browell and the late David Browell; brother in law of Douglas (Elena) Browell, David Browell, Richard (Lori) Browell, and Robert (Leslie) Browell. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Ron was an officer with the Baltimore Police Department for 14 years, rising to the position of detective. He then went on to serve 29 years with the Federal Government retiring from the Drug Enforcement Administration as a Supervisor of Diversion Investigations. Ron was an avid cyclist, who also enjoyed boating, hiking, traveling and DIY projects. He was well known for his hard work, caring nature and love of family and friends. Ron will be dearly missed by all and remembered as truly one of the good guys. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and Family are welcome at 2828 Washington Rd. McMurray, 724-941-3211 on Sunday, January 29 1-5PM, where a funeral service will held Monday at 10AM. A Chapel Service will be held Monday 12:30PM at Green Ridge Memorial Park, 2901 Memorial Blvd. Connellsville, PA 15425. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in Vermilion, Ohio.
