So very sorry to hear of his passing. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends. Rob was always such a kind and generous person. We'd have lunch downtown, and it was always great to catch up with him, not just to hear the new things he was up to, but he had such a rich history as well.

When I was a kid growing up next door to the Stevenson’s on Meadow Avenue and 4th Street, Rob was a hero to me. Good-looking, played football (#22) at Charleroi, went to W&J College and later George Washington Law School. I was best friends with his brother Rick, but it was Rob whom I idolized.

When I was about ten, he took me to his first Homecoming as a W&J alum to the football game and to show me campus. At the time, I thought I was going to be a lawyer ‘just like Rob’ and he promised me [in writing, which I still have somewhere] that he would hire me at his firm as soon as I passed the bar exam.

That never occurred, but I did go to W&J and after I got hired here we stayed in touch, most recently about ten years ago when he was doing some legal research as a Trustee for Tori Haring-Smith while she was President of W&J. He really got a kick out of the fact that I was a long-time administrator at W&J.

In many ways, it is because of Rob Stevenson that I'm still at W&J College in my thirty-seventh year as an administrator. He will be missed by me and many here at our alma mater.

Rob was such an important part of the Class of ‘60. Active in planning reunions and generous to a fault. He will be missed.
