Obituary for Robert H. Miller Jr.

On January 11, 2022 Robert H. Miller passed away unexpectedly and peacefully surrounded by his loving wife Caryl and his two daughters, Laura and Nancy. Robert (Bob - Bobby) was born on December 21, 1937 and was the beloved son of the late Robert Sr. and Margaret. He is survived by his wife and long time high school sweetheart and love of his life, Caryl (Lindstrom) Miller. Also grieving this tremendous loss is his two daughters, Laura Giegucz (Edward) and Nancy lee (Michael) his grandchildren Ashley Benson (Adam), Megan Gregor (Jake) and Ryan Lee and a great Pap to Raelynn and Adylin. His sister Barbara Swanson (Richard) along with all his cousins, nieces and nephews and all his long time friends of years and new friends that he and Caryl just made at Lutheran Senior Life in Zelienople where they resided for the last 8 months, all his fishing buddies and all those he cherished along the way. He was always giving his best to everyone, making them laugh, telling a joke or sharing a great fishing story or memory with all those he loved.

Robert was a 1956 graduate of South Hills High School. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelors degree. He served in the US Army Reserve. Then went on to work at his 3rd generation family owned business, Stets Manufacturing - Miller Valve Co. - Miller Manufacturing. He retired at age 70 and sold the business and property. When Bob wasn't working he spent a lot of time doing what he loved most, fishing, anywhere he could. His love for fishing brought him many treasured friendships and a long time committed member of The Pittsburgh Downriggers Fishing Club. He and Caryl were long time members of Peters Creek EP Church. He was a real family man and loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, lots of fun vacations in Nags Head- the OBX, fishing trips and fishing outings in Erie PA, neighborhood gatherings and many New Years Eve celebrations with long time friends of high school and families. He was always up to meet for a breakfast or to share a meal with good friends and always was willing to help others out with rides to wherever they needed to go, we often joked he was an Uber guy before Uber existed. His fun and loving Spirit will be greatly missed and also fondly remembered in those hearts whom he touched forever.

There will be a private family memorial service on Saturday, January 22 at Beinhauer Funeral Home. The video of the service will be available below for anyone that would like to view it. At a later date when the weather is more permissible, we will be planning a military memorial service to lay Bob's remains to rest at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. We will welcome all who wish to attend to that and will be announcing the date later in the Spring.
