Dr Lanz cared for all three of our children from 1979 until 2006. ‘Cared’ is the operative word. His love of his family and his calling was obvious. So realistic and sincere! He came to console us when our son Bill died in 2002. We will remember him fondly and send our prayers to all his children and grandchildren.

Unequivocally, no parent could find a better pediatrician. Dr. Lanz was compassionate with a fast track to the truth! When we needed him at 2AM, he called us back at 2AM. A lovely man in every way, and his passing leaves so many voids both in personal and professional relationships. We are blessed that love knows no boundaries, and his presence will always be felt by those he touched. To his children, who are my friends, wherever and whenever there is love in your family, he will be there. - From all of the Hazos

I could not have said it better. Dr. Lanz was our pediatrician for 20 years and words can not express the deep gratitude and love we all had for him. He will always live in our hearts, and we were blessed to have known him. Godspeed, The Costellos

I went to high school with both Richard and Peggy. Peggy was also a neighbor of mine in Pleasant Hills. Have many fond memories of our walks home from school. Richard was also my childrens doctor for many years. They had many health issues over the years but Dr. Lanz could always find a solution. He was a very loving, funny caring doctor May he and Peggy rest in peace God bless the family Fondly Mary Ann (Bercik) Finotti

My family and I have fond and funny memories of our visits with Dr Lanz. He kept this anxious mother at ease with his humor, even when I called bugging him on the Fourth of July! What a gem of a man. Our prayers that his family finds comfort in his memories.

Dr. Lanz took wonderful care of my four children throughout the duration of their childhood – beginning in 1995 until the time he retired. I have many fond memories of our office visits with him. He always had a smile for us and some funny interaction with the kids to make it less scary for them. He was thoughtful to take time with us and make connections with my children. While we are saddened by this loss, we are also very grateful for having known such a caring, loving man.
