Obituary for Randy Wayne "R.W." Kief

Randy Wayne “R.W.” Kief

Age 54, of Houston, PA, after a courageous battle with a brief illness passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Randy Wayne Kief was born on November 17, 1968 to proud parents Christine (Berton) and Charles Kief, who named their first son after John Wayne and his film Randy Rides Alone.

Randy loved hand radios and communicating with people all over the world. His radio call sign was KC3EKZ. Devoted to serving his community, Randy was a volunteer firefighter for Lawrence and North Franklin, before moving on to his current position of Pennsylvania State Constable for Houston, call sign 6580. Randy also took great joy in participating in WWII reenactments and was president of his WWII Reenactment Group—28th Infantry Division, first of the 110th K Company. Randy was known for his love of the outdoors, his dry sense of humor, and his witty banter and wildly inappropriate jokes with his brother.

Randy was the cherished son of Christine “Chrissie” (George) Kief-Mongalise, and the late Chuck Kief; loving husband, life partner, and best friend of Tammy Gray-Kief; and father of Charles "Charlie" Kief and Shianne "Serena" Kief. Randy was beloved by all who knew him, including family members, friends, and especially his brother and sister-in-law. He is also survived by his ever-faithful furry companion, Jingle Bell “Bell” Kief.

Arrangements by BEINHAUER-FRYER. Friends and family are welcome on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at 430 Washington Avenue, Bridgeville, 15017 (412-221-3800). A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Randy’s WWII Reenactment Group, which he was always sure to contribute regularly; checks may be made out to “Rege Biggerstaff,” in the memo line “Company K – In Memory of Randy Kief.” Please send all memorial donations to the funeral home.
