Obituary for Priscilla "Pris" Pfanstiel (Dollman)

Priscilla Pfanstiel passed peacefully at home in McMurray, Pa., on May 31st, 2020, at the age of eighty-four. She is survived by her husband, James Pfanstiel and three children - James F. Pfanstiel, Jr, (Kathy), Sara Halo (Jay) and Priscilla Robinson. She adored her grandchildren; Trina Pfanstiel, Christopher Pfanstiel (Tina), Kathrine Halo (Chris), Joseph Halo (Kerrin), Margaret Halo, Douglas Halo, and Zevn Robinson along with many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

Pris was the second of three born to Nancy and Virgil Dollman born in Boston, Massachusetts. Growing up she lived in Indianapolis, San Francisco and graduated from high school in Wheeling, W.V. Pris and Jim met on a blind date as students at West Virginia University. They were married on December 29, 1956. Pris was very close to her sisters, the late Sallie Hastings (Bing), the late Nancy McKenzie (Rod) and her sister-in-law, Virginia “Ginny” and husband, Bob Lantz.

Priscilla managed finances in the family business, Pittsburgh Forest Products. She and Jim spent spring and fall each year at their second home in Sandbridge, Va., where they cherished their morning walks on the beach with their dogs. Pris was generous of heart volunteering her time and providing for others. Closest to her heart were children; she donated to children’s organizations all over the world and she welcomed foster babies into their home for years. As a young adult, she was active with the youth groups at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Later, she volunteered for horseback riding programs for the handicapped. As a devoted mother, she was active behind the scenes at horse shows, school activities and more. She cherished the time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews any many pets.

Visitation at Beinhauer Family Funeral Homes (McMurray) on Monday, June 8, from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, at 11 a.m. in the Beinhauer Chapel.
