Age 92, of Bethel Park, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022. Born in Washington, PA on January 17, 1930. Beloved husband of 56 years to the late Kathleen (Reola) Cancelmi; loving father of James J. (Mary) Cancelmi, Daniel J. (Ronda) Cancelmi, and the late Noreen (surviving Rick) Poploski; dear brother of Louis G. (Annette) Cancelmi, Harry J. (Pam) Cancelmi, and Rita (David) Dolan; admired and beloved grandfather of James (Caitlin) Cancelmi, Jeffery (Shelby) Cancelmi, Jesse Cancelmi, Kathleen (Christopher) Urso, Colleen (Josh) Beimel, Daniel (Dena) Cancelmi, Alexa Cancelmi, Kyle Cancelmi, Sydney Woody, and Sara Woody; cherished great grandfather of Porter, Monty, Sonny, and Anna; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Norbert is the son of the late Harry J. (Mary) Cancelmi and the late Marietta (Aaron) Cummins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Norbert attended Brentwood High School, where he was a drummer in the Brentwood High School Marching Band. He loved to play the drums and was a polished musician. Norbert worked 48 years in many areas and business locations within the Columbia Gas organization. He led his own band, Bert Anthony and his Music Men playing in many local venues within the Pittsburgh area. During his retirement years, he enjoyed and assisted many family members and friends with loved ones and their activities. He was always most happy going out to eat with his family. Norbert's family would like to thank the staff at Allegheny General Hospital for the exceptional care and dedication given to him during his visit and Meals on Wheels of Bethel Park for providing his daily nutritious meals.
