Obituary for Mulak Raj (Pushpendra Nath) Kapur

Mulak Raj (Pushpendra Nath) Kapur

Mulak passed away in peace on March 23, 2021, at the age of 86, in the comfort of the home of his sister, Shakuntala Prabhu, with whom he lived for the last few years of his life. He was surrounded by his loved ones both at home and virtually.

He was preceded in his death by his beloved wife, Geeta; and his parents, Shadi Ram Kapur (father) and Krishen Kaur (mother).

Born and raised in Hyderabad, India, Mulak migrated to the U.S. in 1975 and made Pittsburgh his home. There he made lifelong friends and had a happy fulfilling life with his immediate and extended family for 46 years.

When we think of Mulak, we see a smiling face, with a twinkle in his eyes, ready to share a witty joke delivered flawlessly which left everyone in the room laughing. He was an avid baseball and football fan with true loyalty to the Pirates and Steelers. He never missed any of their games through their many ups and downs. What his friends and family remember most is his big heart and generous ability to love deeply those he held near and dear to his heart. He had an innate ability to make one feel special by recognizing and appreciating the special things about each individual.

His passionate and enduring love for his cherished wife of 44 years was exhibited until his last breath. After her passing in 2005, he continued to reaffirm their love story in yearly tributes by writing a beautiful memoriam and sharing it in the local paper.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving children, Rajeev Kapur (Reshma), Arun Kapur (Aruna), Preeti Kennihan (Kim); his eight grandchildren, Alex Churbock (Samantha), Neena Kapur, Nicole Churbock, Sameer Kapur, Supriya Kapur, Sarena Kapur, Kiran Kapur; and many brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and friends.
