Mary Louise (Hubbard) Sullivan
Age 93, of Upper St. Clair, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Mary Lou was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Charles “Sully” Sullivan, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2011. She was the loving mother of Susan (Mark) Nielson of Foster City, CA and Sharon (Kevin Merrills) Usher of Denver; adoring grandmother of Jeff Usher (Colorado) and Kevin and Lindsey Nielson (California); aunt of Betsy Rayner and Laurie Lowe; sister of the late June Lowe; and daughter of the late Thomas and Nellie Hubbard.
Mary Lou was a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and Westminster College. She traveled for her sorority Theta U (Delta Zeta) after graduation where she met the love of her life Sully at the University of Colorado. After a few years of living in Cleveland, Buffalo, Rochester, and Houston, they returned to Pittsburgh to raise their family.
Mary Lou was actively involved in bringing Camp Fire Girls to the Pittsburgh area. She enjoyed taking the girls on many adventures including camping and trips to Washington DC and Spain. The love for travel and the many places she visited, allowed her to become a sales rep for a local travel agency for many years. Golf became her passion once the girls were off to college, and she and Sully played often at their place at Seven Springs and enjoyed inviting their many friends to join them.
Sully and Mary Lou spent many years enjoying their second home in Tucson, Arizona, entertaining friends and family. Mary Lou moved into Friendship Village when Sully passed and enjoyed many years with friends. Her family was always the most important part of her life and she was so proud of the many accomplishments of her daughters and grandchildren.
