Obituary for Marlene R. Holmes Dunn (Santomo)
Marlene R. (Santomo) Holmes Dunn, age 87, a Dormont resident for 81 years, passed peacefully in her sleep on Friday, December 16, 2022. Beloved wife of the late James Dunn. Dear sister of Betty Hayes (late husband Harold) of Lake Forest California; Raymond Santomo (wife Mary) of Peters Township, Pennsylvania; and the late Mary DeLuca and Arthur Santomo. Dear sister-in-law Nancy Santomo (late husband Arthur) of McMurray, Pennsylvania. Cherished by her nephew Hal Hayes, niece Holly Mosier (husband Robert); nephews Scott Santomo (wife Jean) and Mark Santomo (wife Jacquelyn); niece Jenny Spencer (husband George). Well loved by many grand nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Loving step-mother of Michelle Dunn, Christine Dunn, David Dunn, and Gregory Dunn.
Marlene became a financial planner in an era when there were few professional women in the work place and did not fully retire until age 81. As a longtime member of the Women’s Business Network, she actively supported other women in business.
We will all greatly miss the kindest and most considerate and generous woman on the planet who had a smile for everyone and never a bad word for anyone.
Interment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 11 a.m.
