Obituary for Mark Eugene Adams

Mark Eugene Adams, 70, returned to his heavenly home on Saturday, November 26, 2022, after a valiant battle with declining health. His devotion to family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle, and he ultimately was at peace.
He was born on February 17, 1952 in Dover, Ohio to the late Patrick Eugene and Donna Lee Adams.
He married his devoted wife Cherie (Leggett) Adams on March 4, 1975 and was blessed with a large and loving family.
He is survived by his four daughters, Jennifer Ann (Scott) Lara, Angela Star (Douglas) Adams-Barkes, Emily June (Frankie) Chalfont, and Sarah Elizabeth (Michael) Adams; grandchildren, Annabell, Emmett, Frankie III, Zoey, Aava, Joelle, Isabel, Abigail, and the late Rachel; and brother Brian (Sue) Adams. He is survived by many cousins, nieces, and a nephew and is preceded in death by his son-in-law Bryce Chalfont.
Mark was very athletic, playing on baseball, football, and racquetball teams when he was young. He was competitive and enjoyed all sports. It was rumored that he chose which managers to hire based on their ability to play softball so that his team could always win the company softball tournament.
He started in the restaurant hospitality business in 1976 and enjoyed a 40-year career with Bob Evans Restaurants until his retirement. His commitment to and love for his family was the driving force that made his career successful. He was soft-spoken, dedicated, and an excellent mentor, steering many on successful career paths.
Mark loved the beach, traveling the world with his wife, and family vacations in Florida. He also enjoyed fine dining, good wine, playing cards, and gathering with work colleagues and friends at the Trolley Stop Inn. He attended many Pirates and Steelers games and even braved taking all seven granddaughters to a Pirates game. In retirement, Mark enjoyed watching sports in his Steeler-themed man cave and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, his sense of humor throughout his life, and most of all, for his love of family.
