Obituary for Marilynn E. "Lynn" Moses

Marilynn “Lynn” Moses, age 83, of Upper St. Clair, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021.

She was born March 18, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Charles L. and Hilda M. (Kitsch) Phillips and spent her adolescent years growing up in the Beechview area.

Marilynn graduated from South Hills High School in February 1955.

On November 12, 1958, she married Joseph P. Moses.

Lynn was a member of the Salvation Army’s Greater Pittsburgh Women’s Auxiliary and for many years volunteered as an usher for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. She was passionate about music and theatre and attended many concerts and musicals.

Marilynn was a woman of strong personal faith and enjoyed listening to traditional religious hymns. She loved and enjoyed the companionship of pets, including both dogs and cats. Her favorite place to travel was the beach.

Surviving is her beloved husband of 62 years, Joseph P. Moses; a daughter, Lisa Moses; a son, J. Todd Moses and wife Christine; two grandchildren, Matthew and Vanessa Moses; and many nieces and nephews.

Marilynn is preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda Lowrey and Lucille Gallagher; and a brother, David Phillips.

Family and friends are welcome at the Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray (724-941-3211) on Saturday, January 30, 2021, from 9 a.m. until the time of her service at 11 a.m.
