Obituary for Margaret "Kay" Clendaniel (Harriett)

Kay Clendaniel passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Residence on the Hill in Monongahela. Kay was born in Pittsburgh on June 11, 1942 to James and Jessie Harriett. Kay was a very sociable person who loved people and everyone always enjoyed being around her. She graduated from South High School and worked as a hair stylist for many years finishing her career at Horne’s Department Store at Century III Mall. In the fall of 1985 she met Clyde W. Clendaniel at a parents without partners meeting in Pittsburgh and on August 5, 1989 she and Clyde were married with a service at the Century Inn in Scenery Hill. They will have been married 32 years this August.
Kay enjoyed traveling and went to New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, New Orleans and Orlando as part of Clyde’s membership on the Committee for the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy. They also went on three cruises which Kay enjoyed and eventually went to Florida for sixteen winters as snow birds. Clyde credits Kay for initiating their cruises and their trips to Florida.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Donald Newmeyer, a sisters Eileen (Ralph) Heidkamp, and Maryann Street, a niece Tracey (Flag) Pavlak, a nephew Jeff Heidkamp, a great niece Jesse Pavlak and a great nephew Michael Pavlak. She is also survived by step-daughters Hope (Frank) Bolasci and Wendy (Lee) Corazzi as well as four step-grandchildren: Lee Corazzi II, Stephen Corazzi, Craig (Heather) King and Brandon (Linda) King. She will be missed by all of her family. She was preceded in death by her son James Michael Newmeyer.
Arrangements by BEINHAUER. Visitation, Tuesday 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 2820 Washington Road, McMurray, PA, where Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM.
