Obituary for Kenneth Patrick McKay

Kenneth Patrick McKay passed away peacefully on December 3, 2020. Ken was born to Joseph and Kathryn “Kay” McKay in Bozeman, Montana on August 13, 1950.
Ken was preceded all too recently in death by his wife, Sandy, whom he now has peacefully found. They were married for 49 years and were never destined to remain apart. They had and are survived by their daughters Tanya and Heather and son Don. Ken is further survived by his three brothers, Bob, Jim, George, and is preceded in death by his sister Mary (Sissy) Knoll.
Ken graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1972 and went on to serve his country as a “Seabee” in the Civil Engineering Corp, retiring in 1994 as a Commander. He took great pride in being a naval officer and in his professions as an engineer and lawyer.
A beloved grandfather to his five grandchildren Ty, Kylee, Beck, DJ and Reid, Ken will miss showing off his Corvette and his coin collection. He loved guitars and once boasted about his “family band”. We know he is golfing somewhere and when not, telling stories to his new mates.
“Our family, my spirit, my Navy” – Kenneth P. McKay, Cdr., CEC, USNA
