Obituary for Kathleen Ann Katz (Head)
Kathleen Ann Katz died on May 2, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. Kathy was born on July 13, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA, where she resided for most of her life.
Kathy was incredibly passionate about everything that she did. She was committed to her job with the US Government, to her friends, and most importantly to her family. She was a devoted wife and caregiver to her late husband Robert J Katz, a loving mother to Eric Paul Katz (Margaret), Christopher Hatton Katz, and Jennifer Katz Dodson (Brian), a caring grandmother to Madelaine and Reece Katz and Raina Dodson, a compassionate sister to Robert Head (Joan), who preceded her in death, Karen Palmer, and Richard Head (Colleen) and an aunt to Timothy and Kristen Palmer, David Head (Jill), Kimberly Buttermore (Robert), and Jamie Head (Carlie).
Kathy loved to vacation at her favorite beach spots, Stone Harbor and Key West, play Scrabble and Solitaire, and she especially loved to on-line shop.
Kathy was fiercely independent and spent her final years at the Dorchester Mt Lebanon apartments, where she made many close friends and enjoyed playing Bingo with the residents.
Arrangements by BEINHAUER. Visitation Wednesday, May 5, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at 2820 Washington Road, McMurray, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday May 6, at 10:00 AM at St. John XXIII Parish, St Benedict the Abbot Church.
Those who wish to remember Kathy in a special way may make gifts in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. (www.stjude.org)
