Kathleen J. Dutka (Morris)
Of Upper St. Clair, passed away surrounded by her loving family with her devoted husband by her side on Friday, September 30, 2022. Kathy was the beloved wife of 54 years to Laszlo “Les” Dutka; loving mother of Col. Gregory L. (the late Lt. Col. Susan Galich) Dutka, Megan (Michael Carilli) Dutka, and Amy (Paul) Selby; devoted Nanny of Gabrielle Marie Dutka, Zachary Behling, and Alexander Selby; great-Nanny of Charles "Charlie” Joel Dutka; dear sister of William (Wendy) Morris, and the late Sherry LaMancusa; and sister-in-law of Eve (Gary Price) Dutka, and Maggie (Mike Cieloha) Dutka. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents William R. and Mabel (Jones) Morris.
Kathy’s elegant, stylish designs for residential decorating were second to none. Her love of color and design began with her training as a fine artist. She owned and operated Art Unlimited, an art and frame gallery in Mt. Lebanon, for over 11 years. Her passion for design, color and beauty, and desire to meet her client’s needs led Kathy to change her career. She trained and certified as an interior refiner in New York City and went on to create a new business Color My Space. Kathy’s work has been featured in articles in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Tribune Review, and The Pittsburgh Almanac. Kathy served as the president, on the board of directors, and as an annual conference adviser for the Interior Refiners Network (IRN).
Kathy was also an animal lover, especially of her precious dogs, but most of all she was a proud wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family more than anything. Kathy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and family are welcome Friday, Oct. 7 from 1-3 p.m. at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317 (724-941-3211), followed by a private memorial service.
