To the grandchildren of my Uncle Johnny. Your grandfather did something for you that you cannot do for yourself. Imagine yourself coming back in time from the future, in order to advise the younger you. "Don't do that, you'll regret it; instead do ...." That would be great, but there is no time travel. Likewise, your grandfather could not go back and advise his own younger self. But he could advise you! Think of his advice that way. And it won't be just a memory. For your entire life, you will gradually understand better the things he said. In that way, he will always be with you. Arthur Pasteris

We have many fond memories of our time with Uncle John and family. Stories told of his time at Tech and UMass, scary drives on Storrow Dr. heading in to see the Celtics and Bruins games back when we were kids, times when he came to visit with our mother, more stories of his time playing with the Vanwoods (in the picture with teammate Stitchie Brock and our Dad, the coach), golfing and just remembering that big smile and belly laugh of his. He really loved his girls, yes Auntie Joan...you are one of his girls, too. And the grandchildren and grandchild....there’s that smile again. Uncle John you will be missed by one and all. Jimmy
