Age 96, of South Park, died on Sunday, March 5, 2023. John was born in the West End of Pittsburgh on July 21, 1926, a son of the late Leo Aloysius and Margaret (McCall) Kennedy. Beloved husband of 48 years to the late Mary (Storto) Kennedy; loving father of John T. (Eileen) Kennedy II, of Fredericksburg, VA, Karen Kennedy of South Park and the late Maureen (Kennedy) Collins; adored and loving grandfather of Allison M. Kennedy of Fairfax, VA; brother of the late Bernadette Green, James Kennedy, Mary Lou Betz, and Leo Kennedy; also survived by many nieces and nephews. John was a WWII veteran serving in the US Navy as a radar/radio gunner. John retired after 45 years as Vice President/Treasurer of Anderson Equipment Company having served in various areas starting as an assistant in the parts department. He loved golf, was a fan of Pittsburgh sports and devoted to St. Anne’s Parish in Castle Shannon. Family and Friends are welcome on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray (724-941-3211). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul of the Cross Parish, St. Winifred Church (everyone please meet at the church). Interment and military honors to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
