Obituary for John Robert "Batman" Kelemen

John “Batman” Kelemen Jr., Age 58, of Canonsburg, passed away March 9, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl Kelemen. Loving father of Samantha (Julio) Flores and Vita (Richard) Gandolf; Proud grandfather of Elizabeth Reyes and Elijah Flores; Son of Karen Kelemen and the late John R. Kelemen Sr. He was the loving brother of Sherry Kelemen, Kathy Kelemen, Jennifer (Gene) Allen, Jamie (Dave) Marody, Holly (Jason) Clarke and Kristy Kelemen. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, cherished friends and family.
John was an enthusiast of many hobbies including gardening, woodworking, and gaming, as well as an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He was well known for is cooking and baking, as well as his love for animals for which he acquired the nickname Dr. Doolittle. John served in the United States Airforce during which time he was stationed in both Germany and California and later went to join the Airforce Reserves. In 2019, John began his journey as a liver transplant recipient from his gracious donor Crystal Perrone. On the day of his transplant he arrived at the hospital in a batman costume and was known from then on as “Batman”. John became an inspiration to all who knew him and was well known for his smile and determination.
Arrangements by BEINHAUER. Friends received Friday, 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317. Funeral Services are private. Interment at the National Cemeteries of the Alleghenies.
