John “Max” James



Age 49, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Beloved son of Ellen (Robert) Bobick and John Hegedus; loving father of Melanie Hegedus; uncle of Jackson Hegedus; caring brother of Joseph Hegedus. He is survived by his aunts, Lisa Engel and Paula Sims and uncles, David Sims, Joseph Hegedus and James Hegedus and many loving cousins. Max was a graduate of the DePaul Institute, Trinity High School, and Hiram G. Andrews Center in Johnstown. He enjoyed bowling, shooting pool with his father, frequenting the Pittsburgh Deaf Club, and adored his cat, Java. He was an avid Steeler’s fan, and photographer--especially the family’s English Setters in the field. He treasured his time fishing with his dad Bob and loved spending time with his beautiful daughter, Melanie. He also enjoyed traveling to the family house in Delaware and loved the beach. Max will be remembered for his kind heart and love of family and friends. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and Family are welcome at 2828 Washington Rd. McMurray, 724-941-3211 on Wednesday 4-8PM, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday 10AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the DePaul School for Hearing and Speech, www.depaulhearingandspeech.org or a trust fund set up for Melanie.
