Joan Marie (McElhinny) Frank, age 73, a resident of McMurray, PA on Friday August 19th, 2022 was welcomely received by God. Beloved wife of over 51 years to Richard C. Frank. Daughter of the late Earl Benedict and Mary Eleene McElhinny. Loving mother of Ryan (Jennifer) of Southlake, TX; Eric (Kerrie) of Farmington Hills, MI; and Gregory (Sarah) of Pittsburgh, PA. Proud grandmother of Peyton, Addison, Shaniah and Elias. She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret McClelland and brother-in-law Edward McClelland. Survived by her siblings Carol Horgan (Dave) and Earl “Skip” Benedict McElhinny, Jr. Joan was very close to her in-laws, Jack C. Frank of Indianapolis, IN; Laurie McDermott (Dennis) of Davie, FL.; and the late Lee K. Frank of Pleasant Hills, PA. She is also survived by the many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
A devoted wife, mother and teacher, Joan graduated from Mt. Mercy College in 1970. She taught mathematics in many different public schools during her career, along with several technical and trade schools, and was on the staff of Purdue University.
Joan greatly cherished and enjoyed her family, especially her four grandchildren. In addition, she enjoyed domestic and international travel, entertaining family and friends, a variety of needle crafts and of course, cooking, cake decorating and most especially solving brain teasers! She positively touched the lives of countless family members, friends and students throughout her life, selflessly striving to accommodate the interests and needs of those she knew and loved. The world will truly miss her love, friendly personality, and contributions to making it a better place for so many.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 10 a.m. in St. John XXIII Parish, St. Benedict the Abbot Church, 120 Abington Dr., McMurray, 15317. Everyone please meet at church.
