Age 70 of Kane, PA peacefully went to his eternal resting place on February 4, 2022 at St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh. Barry was born in Kane, the son of the late James A. and Phyllis (Sieger) Morgan. Barry is survived by his best friend and wife of 40 years, Shirley (Kightlinger) Morgan, his 3 children: Brandy (Steve) Wilson of Chicago; Hillary (Kyle) Wilson of Kane; James (Julie) Morgan of Kane; 9 grandchildren: Taylor, Satene, Alexis, Reagan, Emiree, Vivian, Drake, Kori, and Avery. Barry is also survived by his sister, Michelle Morgan of Oil City, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his late parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Morgan. Barry was larger than life and lived a life of purpose and passion. He wore many hats: husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle, coach, mentor, friend, colleague, lay speaker, disciple of Christ, voice of sports, avid fisherman, hunter, outdoorsman and gardener. Anyone that knew him during his coaching days would know that he was a clip board breaking extraordinaire. His wife and children had the great pleasure of sharing the secret of his singing and songwriting talents of the most ridiculous songs, which he frequently woke the entire house with at the earliest hours. In his downtime he enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially March Madness, the Pittsburgh Pirates, Golden State Warriors, and if it was just a random game he always cheered for the underdog. His greatest love in life was his family. He loved spending time with them, and he was especially proud of children and his grandchildren. He may have spent hours away, being the voice of local sports but when he walked through the door, he was all ours. He loved teaching his kids and grandkids his love of the outdoors and countless other precious life lessons. He was a friend to everyone and couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone he knew. He was frequently late coming home from running errands because he ran into someone, and “Just had the nicest talk with….” He was a great conversationalist and even better listener. He was also an incredible storyteller, and was great at adding colorful embellishments for effect. He is probably best known to the community as the greatest champion and supporter of local youth sports and was known all over for his extraordinary radio voice. He worked tirelessly in radio for the last 34 years, providing excitement while calling games near and far; willing to travel anywhere and everywhere to support the kids. His excitement and passion for youth sports was palpable even on the radio. Barry was also known as a tremendous supporter of the community and was instrumental in raising funds in numerous instances for the betterment of his hometown and surrounding communities. The scope of his reach is immeasurable. He touched the lives of countless people. His ability to connect with people in authentic, personal and relatable ways was truly admirable and such a gift to everyone who knew him. Of all things Barry did in his life, he was best at giving and showing love. If you were lucky enough to have been one of his people (and there are literally hundreds) you knew it and felt it in every interaction. He never left a single thing unsaid, even if it was emotional and vulnerable. He left it all out on the court of life every single day. To say he will be missed is an understatement. We are quite certain that his next season started the very moment his season here on earth came to a close, and we have no doubts that this next season will be his finest. While we are devastated by his loss, we would like to think that perhaps, his heart had simply exhausted what a human heart is capable of giving in a lifetime and just finally needed to rest. As Barry would say, “and that will about wrap it up for now, folks.” Arrangements by BEINHAUERS. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at a later date.
