Gerald Edward Adams, “Jerry,” age 88, died on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was born September 14,1934 in Pittsburgh, PA, the oldest child of Albert Edward and Mary Patricia (McArdle) Adams. In 1957, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany. On June 2, 1962, Gerald married his beautiful wife, Carol Ann Geon. He graduated from Penn State University with an Associates Degree leading to a career in engineering, specializing in heavy construction. In 1986, Jerry and Carol moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where they spent the next 36 years. He enjoyed gardening, reading about history and astronomy, and home improvement projects. His family was his focus and his true love. He invested himself deeply in his children’s interests and careers. He also was known for his hands-on playfulness with his grandchildren, battling them in water wars, teaching them fishing, leading them on outdoor adventures and always keeping their ice cream bowls full. Gerald was a devout Catholic and raised his family within his faith. He and Carol served an important role at their local church St. John the Evangelist in West Chester, Ohio.

Survived by his wife, Carol, children Jennifer (Michael) Butler, Michael (Helen), Kristin (Jason) Fink, Susan (Joel) Grimes and 13 grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Eileen Anderson and Marilyn Apostolou of Pittsburgh and Ronald Adams of Lancaster, PA.

A funeral mass service is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 10:00AM at Resurrection Parish, St. John Capistran, 1610 McMillan Road, Upper St. Clair, PA 15241. Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation scheduled for 8:30AM at Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road McMurray, PA 15317.
