Obituary for George E. Pence
George Pence, age 88, passed away March 12, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy; loving father of Teresa Hoxie (Clinton), Bruce Pence (Robin), Deborah Holmes and step-daughter Caryn Taylor; Proud grandfather of Ronald Pence (Christie), Amy Pence, David DeJong, Thomas Pence, Jonathan Holmes; and proud great-grandfather to Jordan Pence, Kiyah Pence, Rhemy Pence, Zerric Stewart. He was the loving brother of Thomas Pence (Pat), Robert Pence, Rosalie Ritzema. Preceded in death by his first wife Mildred Pence and a sister Marilyn Kinney.
George served as a Boy Scout leader and was an active member of Peters Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher for several years. He served on the board of Rankin Christian Center for multiple years. George's education included an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University, a Master of Science from Carnegie Mellon University, Master of Liberal Studies from Duquesne University and a Master of Science from University of Pittsburgh.
Arrangements by BEINHAUER. Friends received Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at 2828 Washington Road McMurray, PA 15317. Funeral Service, Monday, 11:00 AM at Peters Creek Baptist Church, 6300 Library Rd, South Park Township, PA 15129. Interment at Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rankin Christian Center (www.rankinchristiancenter.org).
