Obituary for Gary Tener

Gary Tener, Age 77, passed away on April 15 (Good Friday) due to complications battling cancer. He was the beloved husband of Monica (Reich) Tener; loving father of Tony (Natalia) Tener and Carissa (Kevin) Howard; proud grandfather of Tom and Cara Howard; son of the late Carmen and Millie Tener; raised by his late Uncle Jim and Aunt Lena Vaglia; and loving brother of Judi (Tener) Lewis. He is also survived by of a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. A Pittsburgher through and through, he graduated from Pitt and met his wife while both were employed by J&L Steel in the 1960s. Originally from Baldwin, Gary was a resident of Upper St. Clair for the past 45 years. After 20 years in the steel industry, he worked another 20 in the beverage industry. Gary was an active member of the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a supporter of many charities. He proudly served in the Army Reserves. Arrangements by BEINHAUERS, 2828 Washington Rd, McMurray, 15317. A viewing is scheduled for Friday, April 22 from 2-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Louise de Marillac Church, 320 McMurray Rd, Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, April 23 at 10:30am (please meet at the church).
