Obituary for Eileen T. Gaspar (Griffin)

Eileen T. (Griffin) Gaspar, 91, of Peters Township, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021. Eileen was born September 6, 1929, and raised in Lawrenceville by her parents, Mary (Joyce) and James Griffin. Eileen married Walter Gaspar in 1951. They were avid travelers, strong advocates for the JDRF, and shared a love of animals. Eileen worked for the Mellon Bank Corporate Community Affairs Department, and retired in 2008. She volunteered at the Carnegie Museum of Art for 30 years and shared her love for reading with patrons of the Peters Township Library for many years as a volunteer. Eileen was an accomplished artist and was exhibited at the Three Rivers Art Festival. Eileen was a vibrant and fierce woman who was always able to find joy and humor in any situation. Eileen was preceded in death by husband Walt Gaspar, brother Roger Griffin, and son Stephen Gaspar. Eileen is survived by son Grady (Carol) Gaspar; daughter Sandra (Scott) Humphrey; grandchildren Lindsay Gaspar, Taylor (David) Haag, and Gabriel Gaspar; and great-grandchild Mackenzie Haag. Services will be private and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
