On Thursday, May 13, 2021, age 93. Loving husband to his wife of 68 years, Dolores Rugiel Vodzak; dearly beloved father of Edward (Susan) Vodzak and Cheryl Vodzak; loving grandfather of Brian (Amber) Vodzak and Alisa (Mathew) Barger; great grandfather of Ciara, Cooper, Ryder, Lukas, Avery and Wesley; loving brother of Robert (Betty) Vodzak, Irene Kusmira and Anna Mae (Larry) Arch. Preceded in death by brothers Michael, John, Sylvester “Pete”, and sisters Cecelia, Margaret, and Mary. Edward retired over 32 years ago from a career in construction, and excelled in growing his lush vegetable garden for many years. He also enjoyed all kinds of yardwork and helping his family with many handyman projects, as he was skilled in most every trade. He was a gentle and easy-going man who would do anything for family, friends and even strangers. He imparted a strong work ethic in his children and demonstrated to his entire family how to be loving, strong and to persevere in times of adversity. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 17, 10:30am at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church, Pittsburgh. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery immediately following.
