Obituary for Edward William Houck

Edward William Houck, age 101, of Upper St. Clair, departed this world, surrounded by his family, on January 10, 2022. He was the beloved husband for 67 years of the late Anne B. Houck; loving father of Christopher E. (Cindi) Houck and Lois A. (Thomas) Mulholland; cherished grandfather of Elizabeth A. (David) Richards, Daniel E. (Andrea) Mulholland, Kevin T. (Rachel) Mulholland and R.J., Christine, Michael and Anthony (Mackenzie) Antonucci; and adored great-grandfather of Emma and Lila Richards, Sebastian Mulholland, Maura Mulholland and Lennox Antonucci. Ed was a member and former elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church. During World War II he held the rank of 1st Lieutenant in the Army-Air Corps and served as a flight instructor. He was a graduate of Drexel University and worked as a Professional Civil Engineer for General Refractories Corporation and later as a partner of Hendryx Engineers. In his retirement he enjoyed playing golf, painting watercolors, building Grandfather clocks and working in his garden with his many friends at Friendship Village.

There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday January 15, 2022 at 10:30 AM in the St. Clair Room at Friendship Village. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the charity of your choice.
