Donna Marie Binder (Winters), having been born on August 27, 1959, blossomed into her full life in July 1987 when she met the love of her life, and he, his. Early dating led to a miscalculation of a movie time, as well as some mis-planning of the movie itself, and from that inauspicious beginning, the movie led Jeffrey, her spouse, to accidentally find the movie in which ‘Oh Donna’ was prominently displayed. And that’s all it took. They have barely left each other’s side since. And Oh, Donna she was. Baking cookies, caring for her dogs, always the one to lend the necessary helping hand, feeding the birds, donating to food banks – Donna and Jeffrey built the life they wanted in which they were so prominently a part of each other. Beyond the glue that clearly held them together for oh-so-short 31 years was a commonality of both being from larger families which led to the numerous outings with family. Though Jeff and Donna led active lives, they seemed to live to be a part of family functions and gatherings – truly the cement that helped to keep both families vibrant.
Donna’s sweetness and kindness never left her to the very end; she submitted to Covid on February 9, 2021. Donna is survived by her husband Jeffrey Binder; her parents Joseph and Gladys (Matheis) Winters; her siblings Karen Welling (Raymond deceased); Cindy Hinson (Darrell); Joe Winters; Diane Winters; Michelle Young; Jeff Winters (Barbara); and Lisa Shiring (Earl); and many loving nieces and nephews. Due to the current pandemic, there will be a private Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish, St. John Capistran for immediate family members.. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank (www.pittsburghfoodbank.org) or Humane Animal Rescue (www.humaneanimalrescue.org).
