Donald Pickel, age 84, of Upper St. Clair, peacefully passed away on Friday December 30, 2022 surrounded by family and friends.
Don was precedeed in death by his parents Joseph and Anna Pickel, wife Catherine Stegman Pickell, and Sisters Joanne Schmitz and Marilyn Perczak. He was the loving father of Donald (Nora), Joseph (Deanna), Matthew (Kat), Christopher (Christy) and Emily; beloved grandfather of DJ, Charles, Matthew, Jonathan, Hope, Johanna, Nicholas, Anna, Ciara, Franka, and Joseph. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
An Electrical Engineer, Don worked for Bayer Corporation and its predecessors for most of his career before retiring to be with his wife, dogs and grandchildren. He was a proud member of the USC Rotary Club and Teutonia Mannerchor German Club, parishioner and CCD teacher at St. Louise de Marillac Church, and served as a soccer coach, Boy Scout leader, and USC band parent for many years.
Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and Family are welcome at 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray, 724-941-3211 on Friday, January 6th 2023, 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 10:30 a.m. in St. Louise de Marillac Church, Upper St. Clair. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery with military honors.
