Obituary for Donald J. Gerlach
Donald J. Gerlach, 78, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on August 28, 2022 surrounded by family. We are so grateful for the compassionate care provided by Family Hospice.
Don, son of Mae and Robert Gerlach, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 23, 1944.
Don was the founder and president of Allegheny Ad Service, Inc. from May 1971 until his retirement in May 2011. He was a life member of Upper St. Clair Volunteer Fire Department where he served his community for thirty-seven years.
An avid golfer and gardener, Don perfected fairway green stripes on his front lawn. He was a Pittsburgh sports fan and proudly attended anything where his grandchildren were playing or performing.
Don is survived by his wife, Carol (Frediani) Gerlach; children: Donald (Maria) Gerlach, Greg (Shari) Gerlach, Jen (Janet) Hoy-Gerlach, Drew (Abby) Gerlach; grandchildren: Zachary, Abigail, Mario, Olivia, Carter, Anna, Zane, Lucas; siblings: Robert (Billie) Gerlach, Thomas (Lynn) Gerlach, Sandy (Raymond) Sullivan; and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Beinhauer Funeral home in Peters Township on Thursday, September 1st, 2022 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Friday, September 2nd, 2022 10:00 am Resurrection Parish, St. John Capistran Church on McMillan Road.
