Charles S. "Babe" Talarico
Age 78, of Bentleyville, peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Beloved husband of Carol A. (Kratofil) Talarico for 55 years; loving father of Nicole Talarico Miller (John Peterman) and Charles Scott Talarico (Jae Weber); proud grandfather of Steven and Genevieve Miller; caring brother of Robert (Roseann) Talarico; dear brother in law of Nicholas (Nancy) Kratofil. Also survived by many loving nephews, and great niece and nephews. Babe is preceded in death by four brothers, James, Louis, William, and Francis Talarico; and his parents, Anthony and Genevieve (Parzick) Talarico.
Babe was born and raised in the Beechview section of Pittsburgh. He grew up playing baseball and developed a great love of the game. He played Little League in Beechview, and at South Hills High School where he won City Championships. After High School, he continued to play in the American Legion and as a Semi Pro, where he traveled to California to play. Babe's love of baseball led him to lifelong friendships that still endure today.
Babe worked at the Port Authority of Allegheny County for 28 years, mainly out of the Collier division. Like many Pittsburgher’s of the 1970’s, he developed a passion for the Steelers that stayed with him the rest of his life. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Allegheny National Forest, where he had a cabin. Babe was a Veteran, who served in the U.S. Army.
Due to COVID-19, visitation and service will be private. A Zoom Gathering has been set up for family and friends to gather safely on Thursday from 11AM-1PM, to visit with the family,
