Obituary for Charles A. Deger

Age 89, of Upper St. Clair, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Charles is now reunited with his beloved wife in heaven, Mary Ann Deger; loving father of seven daughters, Teresa (Peter) Bozic, Mary Lynn Laughlin, Karen Miller, Jeanne (Shawn) McGorry, Sharon (Dale) Lebon, Lisa (Trevor) Davis, and Victoria (James) Howenstein; proud grandfather of Benjamin and Zachary, Joseph, Kelly and Jamie, Danine and Faith, Shawn Patrick and Shannon, Theodore, Charles, Steven and Andrew, James Charles and Andi; caring great grandfather of eight; cherished son of the late Charles Edward and Mary Louise (Kuenele) Deger. Mr. Deger was a proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant and had a long successful career as an accountant. Mr. Deger was a very patient man, having seven daughters. When his daughters were growing up, he enjoyed coaching their softball teams. Later in life, he enjoyed traveling and was an avid bridge player with his wife. Mr. Deger was always known to be in his yard, whether raking the leaves, cutting the grass, or just enjoying the outside. He loved spending time with all of his grandkids, attending all of their sporting events. Mr. Deger was a devoted parishioner at St. Louise deMarillac Church, where he was always helping with Bingo, the Fish Fry and was also a Eucharistic Minister. His final career was a Business Manager at St. Louise de Marillac Church, which he took so much pride in. Mr. Deger will be remembered for his strong catholic faith, hard work ethic, and most of all love of family. He will be dearly missed by all. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Laboure Parish, St. Louise deMarillac Church, Monday 11:30AM. Entombment to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
