Catherine M. Thompson, age 87, of McMurray, passed away peacefully at Paramount Senior Living in Bethel Park, on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
She was born on June 25, 1933, in Pittsburgh to the late Francis John and Emma Murray.
She worked for many years for MRTSA ambulance service, was an avid reader, and loved traveling and spending time with family.
Surviving are her sons, Kenneth K. Thompson Jr. (Sandra) of Hickory, David K. Thompson (Kathleen) of Baldwin; daughter, Barb L. Jones of Canonsburg; daughter-in-law, Franciene Thompson; her loving grandchildren, Chad Thompson (Carianne), Kelli Grindo, Tiffany Thompson (Levi Overdorff), Kenny Thompson, Michael Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Cory Jones, and Megan Jones; great-grandchildren, Pyper and Carson Grindo, Sawyer and Harper Thompson, and Mason Overdorff; brothers, John Murray (Carol) of Baldwin, Greg Murray of Butler; sisters, Claire Swatko (Walter) of Conway, Carol Hall of West Virginia, Maureen Hatfield (Tom) of Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth K. Thompson Sr., son Jeffrey K. Thompson, and sister Elaine Vasselo.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021, at Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317 (724-941-3211). A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Moore Church, 126 Fort Couch Road, in Bethel Park will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in McMurray.
In lieu of flowers, the suggests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
