Condolence: On behalf of Harvey, Connie and the the staff at Virginia International Raceway, we send our deepest condolences on the loss of Donna Mae. She raced her pink H Production Sprite at VIR in 1962 and 1963. In 1964, she entered her famous "Think Pink" MGB at VIR. Her final VIR appearance was in 1966 when she drove a Yenko Stinger to a seventh place finish. She was a ground-breaking woman and will be missed but her contributions will not be forgotten.

Condolence: My earliest racing memories include being regaled with Donna Mae Mims stories. Many years later I had the great thrill of meeting, and talking to her when she worked Grid at several tracks. Hard to believe someone of her small stature could stomp open doors and charge thru them so successfully - until you hear the stories first hand and see the grin on her face. God speed Donna, I'll miss seeing your smile when I'm on the grid at the Steel Cities races. Chris Fox, EP Caterham 7

Condolence: Donna Mae was not the first accomplished woman race car driver but I believe she was the first to demonstrate such passion and dedication to motorsports, and she had great fun while she was at it. I was fortunate enough to see her race, if only a few times, but to my delight her beautifully restored Spridget #23 was at the 2008 SCCA RunOffs. I took some photos and will email them gladly to anyone who requests (at the ah3000 eddress shown above).

Condolence: All of us at Vintage Motorsport salute the many contributions Donna Mae made to motorsport. She was completely unique, even going braless while being sponsored by a brassiere manufacturer. You will be missed by all, Your Pinkness.

Condolence: We have lost an historic figure in American motorsports. Donna Mae was a very talented driver who broke stereotypes and had fun doing it. Her personality and independence are characteristics that make auto racing such a unique sport. My last memory of her was when she was at Watkins Glen in 2008 at the BARC 50th anniversary party. She was full of energy and was of course, dressed in pink. Her foresight in bringing Laura Daisy to the affair added another dimension to the festivities. My sincere condolences to all of her family and many friends.
